Fundamentals of Vibration

This course provides fundamental concepts of vibration-based linear analyses along with practical applications through numerical techniques​​

Course Objectives:​

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:​

  • Extract frequencies and eigenmodes​
  • Determine whether the number of extracted eigenmodes is sufficient to represent the structure’s response adequately ​
  • Perform linear perturbation analyses for transient, steady-state, response spectrum, and random response assessments​
  • Understand the challenges and how to apply damping​
  • Apply the concepts to solve practical applications ​
  • To use software as a tool for virtual modeling​

  • Interns, New Graduates, and Engineers / Scientists with or without work experience​
  • Engineers / Scientists looking to broaden understanding in new applications/areas ​

  • Bachelors or Masters – Mechanical / Chemical / Aeronautics / Civil / Basic Science​
